The objective of this adaptive reuse was to transform the first floor of a Victorian house into a bed and breakfast that would accommodate future clientele. The client, Christina King, is a retiring chiropractor looking to remodel her Victorian home in downtown Madison to provide hospitality for visitors while supporting her aging in place.

DINING SECTION

This project utilized AutoCAD and Sketchup to create floor plans, elevations, and sections. Later renderings were created via Adobe Creative Cloud Rendering including a virtual walkthrough of the first floor of the Victorian home.

The overall concept of fostering artistic collaboration aimed specifically at authors and freelance writers was focused primarily in the workspace room located down the hall from the foyer. This workspace features comfortable seating, desk space, and stocked bookshelves to facilitate and inspire the creative process.

The open layout of the kitchen and dining room are conducive to communal gatherings and carefree activities such as wine tastings, cooking classes, and mixers.
