- Fostered cross-cultural collaboration by working closely with artisans to learn about the intricate processes of traditional Vietnamese papermaking, as well as its cultural and historic significance, and incorporating their expertise and feedback into the final products
- Gained hands-on experience testing and strengthening the properties of traditional Vietnamese paper through self-directed experimentation while ensuring cultural accuracy and sustainability in the design process
- Conceptualized and designed a collection of handmade paper lampshades, utilizing traditional Vietnamese paper in modern applications to integrate the lost art of papermaking into modern-day markets
- Articulated the importance of preserving traditional art and culture in an interview with VTV, a national Vietnamese news television station, and elaborated on the complexity of cultural and sustainable influences that shaped the exhibition
- Toured architectural firms in Milwaukee and experienced the comparative differences between residential, commercial, and product design which exposed me to the many nuances of design and expanded my professional horizons
